Delete your JOT account.
You can delete your JOT account and everything in it at any time, from inside the app or by email. Deletion is permanent.
This cannot be undone
Once your account is deleted, your JOTs cannot be recovered, by you or by us.
01 Delete in the app
- Open JOT and tap Settings in the bottom bar.
- Under DATA, tap Delete account.
- Confirm. Your account and every JOT are deleted straight away, and you are signed out.
02 Delete by email
If you no longer have the app, or cannot sign in, email us from the Google account you use with JOT:
To: hello@tryjot.xyz
Subject: Delete my JOT account
We confirm the request comes from the account owner, delete the account within 30 days, and reply once it is done.
03 What is deleted
- Your account: the sign-in record linking your Google account to JOT.
- Every JOT: titles, clean and raw transcripts, modes, dates and JOT numbers.
- Search data: the keywords and search index built from your JOTs.
- Usage records: the daily counters behind the fair-use limits.
- Audio: any recording still held on our servers. Recordings are normally deleted as soon as they are transcribed; this sweep catches any that were not.
04 What is kept
We keep nothing from a deleted account in the JOT database or storage.
- On your phone: a recording that has not been transcribed yet, for example one made without signal, is stored only on your device. Uninstalling JOT removes it.
- Payments: once paid plans launch, Google Play keeps its own purchase records, as its terms require.
05 Only want your JOTs gone?
You can keep your account and delete every JOT instead: Settings → DATA → Clear all JOTs. Numbers are permanent, so your next JOT carries on from where you left off rather than starting again at #1.
